Let's Have the Conversation
with Desireé B. Stephens
Some conversations change what we know.
Others change how we live.
This is a space to think deeply, practice together, and explore what becomes possible when liberation moves from theory into everyday life.
Not a show to consume. A conversation to join. Whether we are exploring disability, parenting, relationships, grief, decolonization, organizational culture, community building, or collective care, the question remains the same:
How do we practice liberation in real life?

The three movements
Conversations as Practice
The podcast is one of the many ways to practice The Liberation Method™ through Education, Somatics, and Community. Every episode explores one aspect of liberation practice — from personal healing and nervous system regulation to systems change, relationships, education, community building, and culture. These are not isolated conversations. They are chapters within the methodology.
Episodes naturally gather around the three movements. Not because liberation happens in a straight line, but because awareness deepens through practice.
Reclaim Memory— Understanding what shaped us.
Conversations exploring: history, identity, family systems, culture, community memory, supremacy culture, ancestral wisdom, the stories we inherited.
Develop Consciousness— Building awareness into embodied practice.
Conversations exploring: somatics, disability, healing, neurodivergence, relationships, boundaries, trauma, self-awareness.
Build Liberated Culture— Creating new ways of living together.
Conversations exploring: community building, parenting, leadership, collective care, organizational culture, conflict and repair, mutual aid, everyday liberation.
A recurring series
Midday Motivation
Sometimes liberation sounds like a framework.
Sometimes it sounds like a reminder.
Midday Motivation is a short-form series exploring resilience, reflection, community care, and the small practices that help us stay grounded in the work.
A pause in the middle of the day. A breath. A reminder that liberation is practiced one moment at a time.
The question
Most conversations ask us to choose.
Healing or justice. Personal growth or systemic change. Individual transformation or collective liberation.
This podcast begins from a different assumption: that healing and justice were never separate projects.
Every episode is an exploration of that truth.
Some conversations begin with a story. Some begin with a question. Some begin with a disagreement. All of them are invitations to practice — to listen, to reflect, to notice what shifts inside you, and to carry that noticing into your own life.
This is what it means to practice liberation as a way of living.
From the Living Laboratory
These conversations are not abstract. They emerge from the Living Laboratory — the lived practice of this work at the Healing Homestead and beyond. Every episode carries the weight of real life, real relationships, and real effort to live this methodology, not just describe it.
Start where you are
There is no right episode to begin with.
Episodes move with the Seasonal Practice Cycle™, the same annual rhythm that carries everything here. An episode from last spring hasn't expired. It's waiting for the season to come back around, because it will.
There is no season you're behind on.
Choose the conversation that meets you where you are. Whether you arrived through healing, disability, parenting, justice, community building, organizational change, or simple curiosity, the invitation is the same:
Listen slowly. Stay curious. Practice what resonates.
And when something moves you, let it move you somewhere — into a practice, a course, a conversation, a community. The episode is not the end of the conversation. It is the opening.
The ecosystem
One Question. Many Doors.
The podcast is a beginning, not a destination. The same question carries through every doorway here — and the conversation continues far beyond the episode.
